A lamp exploded in Mr. Kugcnc house Sunday night while all tho family bare a young lady and child -were at church. The handsome house eoon took fire, and Mr. Moynahan and family and hundreds of spectators tood by and it burn to the gronnd, although water in plenty to extinguish the fire was nearby. The loss was about $3,531, insurance about 12,300. 1 he resnlt of the fire provoked much auusc from many citizens of the tonn officials. Two months ago the toivn and water compan had a disagreement over the contract price of water, the town alleging bad quality. The water company was notified that no moro water would be ncecpted by the town till the matter was settled. The rluffs were spiked, end a suit is now pending in the court.
