As the "mark" pleads for dignity in his dying Stallone hands him a second gun allowing the target to pull the trigger on himself making the situation appear suicidal to save face. At first I felt Stallone might be going "soft" with this merciful act of decency. But as I continued to watch I realized there's room for only one macho one-line artist in Assassins and his name is Antonio Bandcras. Stallone plays assassin Robert Rath a hired gun slowly developing a conscience due to an incident that occurred Fifteen years ago. Now he seeks to exit the assas- sin playing-field following one last contract from an employer known only through computer-sent instructions. Rath o...

2HWIP(DHOT Page 2 The Brand I October 19 1995 ROTC program is more than meets the eye When most people think of the men and women in the ROTC program here at Hardin- Simmons University they think of the group that presents the colors at football games. The Reserve Officer Training Corps program is really more than that and I can say that first hand. Last Friday myself and the managing editor Andrew Boss experienced part of what the cadets do as. we watched the group during their annual FTX (field training exercise) out at Camp Barkeley just south of Abilene. I went in with the attitude that these guys will sit around and maybe play capture the flag. But I was wrong and way off base with that notion. ' These cadets led by cadet Lt. Col. Richard Eubanks really do have a mission and are receiving viable training from an ROTC program that really does have a long and distinct heritage not to men- tion the University's long-time friendship with the military. The Brand I October 19 1995 ISIMMBTra ReO BportS Football playoffs just around comer By Ryan Shelton staff writer The intramural world is abuzz as the football playoffs kick off this week. The playoff will be done on a 'power protect' system with the teams with the best records playing the teams with the worst records in a single elimination format.
