" My main object is to give you tho result of the vote hero in the Presidential election; it stood thus: Pierce 47 Scott M. Calhoun J. D. Scott and Jack&on Eunis were judges Willmm Lane and J. J Bott as clerics. I have not heard how the vote stood in Laredo but presume it was nearly unanimous for Pierce. " Wc are doing finely at present plenty to eat and not much work to do. You have no doubt heard a good deal said about hard living out here by some of those who got tired of ranging and wished to return home.
