INDUSTRIAL MATTERS BEAUFORT MINERS' STRIKE. MEETING OF MEN SETTLEMENT PROBABLE ANOTHER CONFERENCE SOUGHT BEAUFORT, Sunday.   A probable settlement of the Beaufort   and Waterloo Miners strike is in sight, the present poroblem being brought about by lack of funds and the action of several men in resuming work on their own   account. At Waterloo this afternoon a mass meeting of unionists was held. Some 80 men were present, and the proceedings occupied about three hours. Only   members of the association were admitted.   Addresses were delivered by Messrs Howes   (president of the State executive of the F.M.E.A.), T.Jude (secretary), J.Fargos     (vice-president), J.J.Northey (secretary     of the Ararat branch), G.Richardson,   and W.E.
