Disastrous Fire. AT MR WALDOCLv'S PREMISES DAMAGE ESTIMATED AT £500. ' FIVE BEDROOMS DESTROYED. TOTALLY UNINSURED. On Tuesday morning at about 11 'o'clock a servant girl in the employ of Mrs Waldock noticed some smoke issuing from one, of the _ bedrooms cotn-m prised in Mr K. 'Waldock's property. ,SlIe I immediately ran to her mistress and called out 'Oh. Mrs. Waldock- the place is on fire.' The mistress of :tlie' house at once called her husband, but whon lie; arrived on tho spot the flames .had. a good, .hold of the building. A large -crowd quickly collected, but as usual in - such cases, did more harm than good. . : A. few pE the more calm and collected,, immediately perceived that the only chance of saving any part of the building was to knock down the kitchen which separated the bed rooms from two front rooms, and they immediately set to work to do so. Golden West Australia. [Newspaper Article] — Kalgoorlie Miner — 4 December 1895

Golden West Australia. The continued slump of the Kaffir Circus market has at last taken some « 'effect in the West Australian market, although the better class stocks are fast lecovering from the temporary reactio', and, in a few cases, a rise has taken place, notably Hannan's Brown Hill, which are up at £8 2s 6d against a price of £5 15s at the last carry over. Great Boulder, however, made up at £5 15s against £6 15s at the mid October settlement, and have since dropped to £-5 on a disappointing crushing. Associated Gold Mines nvvde up to £2 against £2 12s Gd, Colonial Finance at £1 17s 6d against £6 10s premium, Hampton Plains at £i 5s against £4 15s, Kalgurli at £2 5s against £'3, and so on. Those of my leaders who have acted upon my advice will have taken large profits on most of these shares, which, although un doubtedly substantial, had yet arrived at a very high level. ?: ; The advent of the London and Continental Investment Corporation of Western Australia, Limited, is a so...
