Easter Monday Sports During this week end great pre parations are going to be finalised for the running off of the Gilgandra Hospital Sports on the local Race course. The street procession -com mences -at the Shire Chambers at 10 a.m. "and;-the children events com mence-at the race course later on. The Dubbo Band has been substituted for the Coonamble Band which could not attend as scheduled. This is the largest programme submitted at a sports meeting at Gilgandra and should patrons avail themselves and their children of the day they should enjoy a very enjoyable time. All entrance fees to nominate are rea sonably. low and within the reach of all who wish to participate.

At various meetings of late notices of motions have been passed, and at the next meeting two will be tabled, .The first one is moved by Cr. J. J. O'Brien "that the motion passed at the January meeting in connection wi;h the lease applied for by T .G. Higgins be rescinded." Board reported. at the usual monthly meeting,.'last week, that rab bits are still showing a slight increase l,in the localities which have been fav ored with storms and wliere there has been an easing' off in the work of de struction. Death From Lock-jaw . •Dread; lock-jaw brought a swiff death to a fiye-years-old schoolboy at Monteagle, near Young, recently. When 'the lad was at school lie com plained of a stiff" jaw, but although it was no better when he went home at night, a cold, was held to be re sponsible. As the lad became worse, however, hp was . taken to a'doctor, who ordered his- immediate removal to hospital, where,' despite every known precaution, he died."
