THE DISTRIBUTION OF GOLD THROUGHOUT THE WORLD. [Newspaper Article] — Geelong Advertiser and Intelligencer — 22 March 1852

THIE DISTRIBUTION OF GOLD THROUGHOUT THE WORLD. (From the "'orning Chronicl,' Nor.17.) iun. WrLD, geographer to the Queen, has just issued a pamphlet designated Niotes on the Distribution of Gold tlh-ughout the World,' which brings into one focus all the information known upon this exciting topic. In the pre sent state of opinion in Australia and California, this little work cannot fail to he extensively read. More than it con tains is not known; in other words, it concentrates in a popular and accessible form all the knowledge, scientific and phsical, r-specting the regions where gold is to be found. Four maps illus trate the pamphlet: the first is a gold map of the world, which shows in colours the diferent localities in all the countries of the earth, where the pre cious meal may, from geological condi tions, be supposed to esist. From a c'rsery survey of this map, we should be inclined to infer that gold is almost as plentiful--or at least, that its de posits are as widely sprea...
