Thubsday. July 26. In the Legislative Assembly, — Mr. Garrett desired to call attention to the fact that, on the evening of the Friday previous, the hon. member for Sydney East (Mr. Parkes) made certain written statements regarding him which were subsequently printed in the Votes and Pro ceedings. One of these statements was as follows : — ' I report to the House that Mr. Drang field has stated to me that the same hon. member (the member for Camden, Mr. Garrett) was to receive a sum of money if he could obtain a situation under the Government for Mr. Liardet. ' On the next following day he (Mr. Garrett) sent a telegram to London to Mr. Byron, of Greville's Australian Telegram Company, to the effect that he was to 'find Liardet (candidate for Green wich) and let him know that it is asserted by Parkes that Liardet made a bargain to giveGar rett £500 to procure an appointment for him. I have this wcok disposed of 22 head bullocks on account of Mr. P. Walsh, Kildaraah, to Messrs. McKenzies Bros., Young, also 20 bullocks, to Mr. J. A McKinnon. Memegong. PARLIAMENT OF NEW SOUTH WALES. Friday, July 30. In the Legislative Council, — It was stated by Mr. Docker, in reply to Mr. Weekes, that communications bad been received, attributing the illness of men on board her Majesty's ships of war anchored in Farm Cove to an effluvia arising from its waters. There would be no objections to laying the communications on the table. On the motion of Mr. Docker, the House went into Committee 'to consider the Assembly's message in reference to the Council's amendments in the Land Acts Amendment Bill.
