For the Men on the Land. Mr-Clark, of Moo Swamp, is said to have averaged £18 per head for his dairy cows during the past season, while one or two Thorpdale dairymen are also reported to have averaged £14 oi* (jE15 per head for the season. Mr. Clark is a native of the Koroit district, and in his early manhood was in the blackamifching business in that town. He has evidently found ont that it is more profitable to ' shoo*' cows than shoe horses. x x x x Iu the Legislative Assembly last Thursday the Minister for Agriculture (Mr. Hutchinson) said, that the pro mise made by the Ministor for Agriculture in Western Australia had been redeemed. Social and Dance. THE BUNYIP RIFLE CLUB. One of the most enjoyable social evenings ever held in Bunyip took place at the mechanics' hall on Friday night last, nndor the auspices of the Bunyip Rifle Club. The club has just concluded the most successful season since its inception, and to mark the occasion members decided that Bometbing better than the usual smoke social for members only should take place. A social and dance, admitting the public, was agreed upon, and it proved a thorough succoss in ovcry way. Above all other institutions the Bunyip Rifle Club haB, many energetic workers, and this could be seen at a glance immediately on entering the hall. The interior of the building was beautifully decorated with ferns, pot 'plants, wattle blossom, and flags in abundance, while the motto " G.It.
