The Murder : of John Strawbridoe.—A confession has been made which may lead to the identification of tbe murderer of John Strawbridge, who was found in an insensible condition, at the river bank, in November, 1862. An old lady named Paul has called upon District Attorney Herr, stating that a young lady who recently died in our city, confessed, upon her death bed, that she, in conpany with a lover, were promenading on the river bank on the evening preceding the day on which Strawbridge was. found; that her lover knocked down Strawbridge and robbed him, supposing that he " was dead; that she was forced to swear that she would never reveal tbe murder, but her conscience compelled her to state the facts before departing this life. The alleged murderer is in the army, and if guilty it iB hoped that some means may bo found by which he may be made to suffer the penalty of his crime.- The case is a singular one throughout.
