LOCAL (VIS OF IK WEEK TOO ether with a personal mention OF THOS& IN THE fIOVINO PANORADA OP LOCAL HISTORY Eastern Washington will have two fairs this fall, one at Spokane and one at Yaki ma. It these exhibitions are no better than some of their predecessors people in this section will not spend money to attend. Now here's the rub. The prevailing senti ment in the town seems to be not to celebrate this year. We hav; no groonds at present and can not have until some start is made in this direction. But we have locations where abundance of suitable land is available. And we believe if the. proper energy were behind the proposition a fair eclip sing either Yakima or Spokane could be held in Ritzville this fall. The Star literary society will give their program and closing exercises of the Riuville pub...

SI. LIS WORLD'S fl Put on your Old Sbosi and Qo. Yes, we saw die big show, it is all right, yes, we had an enjoyable trip. Ye* indeed, yei it is worth going to iee, if, looking until your eyes and and strength gave out, your head ached and wentbuzzy—fuzzy, and you wandered and was crushed among thousands of people but could find no body. Yes, we experienced these and • hundred other uew things and had ever such a good time. The Louisana Purchase Exposition eclipses any af fair of iti kind previously held. It covers approximately 1240 acres of land and has fourteen miles of intra mural railway and on the whole ia a sublime and inspiring specacle that we wish all o.ir friends might behold. From information gained it would seem to us that from and after about Sept. 15th, would be the preferable time to see the great exposition in its full splendor and completion. The Washington state building is a •plendid exhibit for the evergreen state and will never be forgotten when once visited Mi...
