Prefbsbr J. B. Keeney, State Institute Conductor, and Dr. C. J. C. Bennett of the Louisiana State University and Agricultural and Mechanical College, visited the Summer Normal here on on Wednesday and addressed the teachers. Professor Keeney complimented Winnfield on the wonderful change since his last visit seven years ago when he made the trip from Natchitoches in a hack, and the parish on the manner in which the finances of the schools are handled. He said that the salaries paid teach ers in this parish are up to that of any parish in the State. The normal schools are well organized and are doing better work than at the same date last year. P r o f. Keeney remarked that the per centage of young teachers in the summer normal here is noticeable, and this normal has next to the highest number of male teachers in at tendance of all the summer schools he has visited. He dwelt with considerable force upon the co-operation of teacher, parent and child, saying it it the duty of the teach...
