The Frogs have always played twelve games and very plainly let It be known that they did not care too much about playing again. But when a $10000 guaran o tee was thrown before them it was too good to pass up so they changed 'their attitude and began playing up the Idea of the boys being delighted 'over getting "to play one more game together.'' Tea sir a little money can get a lot of things done! We did hold a little desire for Baugh to play In the East-West game- in San Francisco but the game in Dallas could be a good one if the team wants to play real ball again. Marquette has been beaten but once and has a back who has made as many all- American teams as Sam has. Speaking of "a...

A SHORT HISTORY OF THIS OUR WORLDLY WORLDLY WORLD By Hal Cherry 1 know you are all deeply engaged In Idleness my friends (?) but just relapse. I have been asked to write about some of the highlights of our world's history. Just the other day I was lying down with the bed spread over me and It occurred to me that we of this present younger genet atlon are dtifting away from the worth- while things such as history so here It is in a shell hole. If I get a little mixed up kindly remember that 1 had the course in high school and flunked It twice. We leatn fiom the Bible how things started out. The hist man was Noah. Wm SPORTS Ol Gab Although it has been two weeks since the last edition news is still quite scarce since the ball games on the schedule were cancelled. The in clement weather prevented the San Marcos Bobcats making their trip to Brownwood on the eleventh. As a re- sult the Jackets have had only two half-hearted practice tilts up until this week.. A group of all-stars from May came up last week to be beaten by the Jackets 30-19. Later u the week Coach Keaton and his boys repaid the visit and lost 32-31 The conference games are begin' nlng in earnest now and from here on out the games won and lost will really mean something. Trinity and McMurry already have wins over A. C. C. and Southwestern respectively. Monday night Austin College defeat- ed Trinity by the decisive margin of 41-24. McMurry appears to have re- covered from the loss of one of their outstanding forwards from last year's fine squad one Bobby Anthony by name who was Injured in the last football game of the year and has n...

This was brought more to light by the manner in which the reserves "played the last- half. Henson McBride and others really went to town if they failed In their efforts to impress the coach they certainly did not fail to Impress the spectators.
