If a murder or robbery or case of lynching occurs in Texas it is greedily circulated by all the papers in 41 the States" as an evidence that Toxin is an unsafe place for a peace- able and honest man to risk his life. Well wo agree that Texas has seen some tolerably scarey tunes iu this respect but she can of a truth say that the rowdies atid bad characters who have given her this bad name mostly came from tho old States; and while we have used the most diligent means to extirpate the breed of rassals it is cause of deep regict to discover that the source of supply threatens to be inexhaus- tible.
