Mr. Fuller said tbat, at a meeting held in Sydney some days ago, which had been convened by circular, it was resolved that a deputation should wait upon the Premier to place the views of the meeting before him, but, as the legislation to be advocated was of an entirely novel description, he (Mr. Fuller) reserved himself tbe right to agree or disagree with the various pro posals. Local Industry. TAYLOR'S NEW SULKY. [Newspaper Article] — The Shoalhaven News and South Coast Districts Advertiser — 29 April 1893

Looal Industry TAYLOR'S NEW SULKY: Always glad to hear of the success of looal enterprize, we now havo much pleasure in noticing a new description of vehicle just turned out of the estab lishment of Mr. Frank Taylor, tho well-known buggy builder, of Nowra. The vehicle is a sulky, very much the same as the sulky which has been a lot in use here daring the last two years, but it has a great improvement in the ?hapa of a sliding seat and 'k-x under seat. The sliding seat works with a handle, and is constructed on a most simple principle, being movable whilst three persons of the ordinary size are sitting and without their having to move, the slide being manipulated by the driver. It is a vast improvement oh the old jump seat, which has been found a failure by it not being movable and not possible of balancing the vehicle to the safety or pleasure of tho occu pants. The slide of this new sulky is 6£ inches, and can be shifted as desired. Since the introduction of the sulky to the colony...

A Richmond River dairyman, who mOks 70 cows, has drawn £96 for one months' supply of milk. Mr, T. The Dairy Farmers' Business. [Newspaper Article] — The Shoalhaven News and South Coast Districts Advertiser — 29 April 1893

The Daisy Farmers' Business. some tew weeks ago a meeting of self-appointed delegates from dairy com panies ' wan' held in Sydney with the ' oliject of improving the means for butter exportation. We say 'self- appointed ' advisedly, at least so far as the representatives of Shoalhaven dairy companies were concerned, as they were chosen by and frota among the directors of their respective companies. Most of the dairy companies in the South Coast and West Camden districts sent repre sentatives. It was understood that these delegates were to discuss the natter of butter export and formulate some scheme by which the export could be carried on more effectually than hitherto. But the conference, it is said, was a complete failure, from some in explicable mason. Setting aside the outcome, good or bod, of the conference, the manner in which the delegates were sent away to Sydney lias given rise to some complaint nmongst dairymen in these parts. The respectability and ability of the numerous...

STANBURY IN AMERICA. [Newspaper Article] — The Shoalhaven News and South Coast Districts Advertiser — 29 April 1893

STANBURST IN AMERICA. James Stanbury, the champion oarsman, has been well received in San Francisco by a section of the ' sports ' of that city. 'Quiz 'in Wednesday's Echo says that Stanbury had broken the first finger of his right hand while engaging in a boxing bout with an instructor of one of the local athletic clubs. This little item of news may be worth remembering in view of the fact that Jim has a couple of matches on hand. No one gave our champion sculler credit for having a fanoy for boxing, though Poter Kemp has been seen give him once round when the two famous oarsmen were training together at Ryde. Mr. J. B. Muirhead, an ardent admirer of rowing, gave a banquet in honor of Stanbury at San Francisco on March 28.
