WHAT UNCLF THINKS. [Newspaper Article] — The Times and Northern Advertiser, Peterborough, South Australia — 26 March 1920

WHAT UN'CLF. THINKS. "Talking about religion," said Un cle Silas, "it is a funny old fireworks that often blows up when least ex pected to. Who should want any other religion than the one he was t;ragln to love and reverence in the sanctity of his impressionable years of youth? Yet there are people oj ail sects and classes who have not: enough religion to cover thei^ olvn wants, and they are always irying to tear a piece off the religion of some one else. They, in .their poverty of apparel, are ever striving to take from, or abuse of, another what they themselves have not enough honest religion of their own to stand secure before the world in. "Saa-Raysei" Coluna. By '"DIP-TIN." We have just recently sustained a visit, in the Sun-Raysed districts," from sixty pressmen, representing the most important newspapers of the Common wealth. It is ,onlv fair to say that that the moral one of the various communi ties has, since the Visitors* arrival, on-yl declined to a very small extent. ^ Two or three robberies occurred in Mildura during the visit, but, in spite of the fact that it is many months since a previous robbery was reported, there, is really no circumstantial evidence against" a single member of the delegation. Some little stor was caused - by a foolish rumour that some of the visitors had broken into a local bank and secured consider able booty, but it appeared on investi gation that some eavesdropping idiot had overheard the following conversa-. -4ion between two pressmen : "Did you take. many, notes, Jones " "Yes; thou sands old man.
