Browne, the late mem ber for the district of Patrick's Plains, held a meeting at Belford on Thursday afternoon. The attendance was not large. Mr.;_—__ ___.____, of Uorinda, occupied the-chair. Be said Mr. Browne had come before them to give aa account of his steward ship, since he had been their representative iv Parliament. He hoped they would send him' hack again at the coming election, because he believed they could not get a better man.
