THE BALL AND BANQUET. Tho ball took place at tho Town Hall in , the evening. Dancing commenced shortly after 9 o'clock, and was kept up with much spirit until the early hours of morning. The ! most attractive feature in the evening 'B pro*1 codings was tho midnight feasting and the feast of reason which followed. Tue speech cf the evening was certainly the one delivered by Father O'Connell, which we give bdlow. It was delivered with pathos, that suggested the deep feeling of patriotism implanted in tho breast of the speaker. Father O'ConnelTe eloquence evidently excited the enthusiasm of his countrymen. Father Qoran presided, and the banqueting Hall was fully occupied by ladies and gentle men, the former predominating. Justice having been done to the good things provided, tho reverend chairman proposed tho health of Her Majesty the Queon in loyal terms, and the foosfc was drunk with enthusiasm. The health of " His Excellency tho Gover nor" war proposed and drunk in a similar spirit....
