In January 1871, this mill was destroyed by lire, together with all the machinery and a large amount of stock on hand, ho losing at tlintltlmo about $10,000 over Insurance Tho lire had hardly died away beforo he commenced tho erection of a larger and more convenient one on tho site whoro the old one stood and which he had completed and running In May.
