He was a wonderful man in many respects. While making a survey ot a mountain he overheated hinieelf, was taken with a chill, carried home and never got up. If wc remember correctly he was one of the original proprietors of Ar kansas City, at least that was his home for a time and where he wrote two or thrjc fine Indian sketches, among them the poem to which wc alluded above.
