Frank Bell and Kenneth Myers. By JANE HUNT BASTROP — Kenneth Myers, Charles Alexander and Frank Bell have one thing in common — all three have been playing football since the seventh grade. These three Bastrop Bear players know the hard grueling hours that go into football practice, the exercises and miles of running in 100-degree heat. "And that's only a part of it," the three said laughingly. "Some people think that at game time, we just pet out on that field and start playing," added Myers, who plays offensive guard. "For one thing, football takes a whole lot of time and a whole lot of work," said Frank Bell, a defensive tackle who just moved to Bastrop last year. Bell is a junior and has another year with the Bears. There are a lot of sacrifices when one chooses to play football, Mye...

THUBSPAY. OCTOBER 26, 1978 THE BASTROP COUNTY TIMES. SMITHVILLE, TEXAS 78957 SEC. 11, PAGE 9 V; . ... Illpl ys.4Bva MS m The future of Texas is in your hands. Bill Clements is a part of this great state. Texas has a great future, but that future is only as bright as the man who's in charge. The time has come to elect a proven businessman, a leader, and not just another politician. We must control inflation and taxes. Bill Clements knows how. With less government in Austin, not more. With reorganization and sound planning as alternatives to increased spending. With the elimination of unnecessary and excessive taxes. We must solve our energy problems. Federal control of Texas' gas and oil will destroy our state's economy for the benefit of the East and the North. Clements will fight that. He'll fight for an energy program of increased production. He's well qualified because he's worked in the energy business all over Texas and around the world. We must improve state-wide education. Th...
