Charley Johrson a colored boot- black sixteen or eighteen years of age the son of Ambrose Johnson who follows the occupation of a gar- dener was accidentally shot at the chili and tamale stand kept by Frank Collins on West Sandy street next to Dr. Williamson's brick building yesterday at noon just after the northbound Santa Feand westbound Central passenger trains had pulled out. The necrro bov went to the place and ordered a plate of chili which was handed out to him and while young Collins was cutting a slice of bread to go with the chili the pistol a thirty-eight caliber was in some manner discharged and the ball struck and flattened againft the boys skull to the right and just where the forehead begins to recede. It imbedded itself under the skin and was cut out by Dr. Ed Becker. The surface of the ball which struck the skull was as smooth as a billiard table and as flat as a pancake. I J LOCAL NEWS The criminal docket will be taken up in the district court on nest Monday. There are at present hvo prison ers and four lunatics confined in the county jail. New Teak's creek was reported out of banks late Tuesday after- noon from the heavy rain. The "Our Crowd' club had an en- joyable party at the residence of Mr. and Mrs. W. H. Murphy last Friday evening. The tax-payers of "Washington county -will have to pay next to nothing for jury fees at this term of the district court. The bad weather has interfered to a considerable extent with the meet ings of Eevs. Abe Mulkey and Bur- nett the evangelists. The county assessor and his depu- ties are still engaged in taking assessments of real and personal property in the different precincts.
