DEATH FROM APPENDICITIS. [Newspaper Article] — Queensland Times — 13 January 1909

DEATH FROM APPENDICITIS. Our Marburg correspondent writes un der yesterday's date :-Master Fried rich Carl Stegemann (son, of Mr. H. Stegemann, a well-known resident of this locality), died at Rosewood at an early hour on Monday morning. Deceased, who was a bright young fellow, was just a little over 16 years of age, and will be greatly missed by his many comrades. The unfortunate lad had been enjoying good health, and took sick only last week, being   attacked by the much-dreaded malady, appendicitis. He was taken over to Rosewood, where medical aid was   sought, and an operation was perform- ed on Sunday morning, but proved to be of no avail to save his life. The deceased's remains were interred in the Marburg Lutheran Cemetery this morning, the funeral being a very large one, and the Rev. J. Frank officiating at the grave-side in a very impressive manner.
