Ry the Formosa, which left Port Phillip on the 15th and arrived here on the ISth instant, having made the run in 65 hours, we have re- ceived a few Melbourne papers and news to the «late of her departure. The Great Britain arrived at Port Phillip on the ll th instant,: having left Liverpool on the 20th ot August last, as advertised. Her protracted passage was owning to the scarcity of fuel. When within 800 miles of the Cape she encountered very heavy weather, ¿nd her coal ran short, and a'ier à consultation with bis officers Captain Matthews deemed it pru- dent to put back to St. Helena. . By this movement she lust 16 days. The Great Britain had eighty passengers in the aft saloon, one hundred and ninety in the fore saloon, and three hundred and suety in the second cabin.
