In tbe Assembly Thursday after noon was occupied in discussing the motion by Mr. Hamilton, that facili ties bo afforded governing authorities to control tramways, urging that Government assistance means the development of agricultural areas. In the evening the Council's amend ments in the Diseases in Stock Act Amendment Bill in the direction of making all inspectors veterinary snrgeons was disagreed with. The bill to enable farmers to borrow from the State, on security of leases, money at fire per cent for twenty years," to erect marsupial proof fences, was read a second time. Supply: Several items in the Department of Justice were passed. The House rose after II o'clock.

The "Wheat. A GOOD HABVEST. Encouraging accounts are being received of the wheat harvesting now going on in the Darling Downs dis tricts. There will be good average yields. The Q-XT- Bank Cases. CONSIDERABLE PROGRESS. Bkisbajte, Friuaj, 3.27 p.m. At the Q.N. Bank trials the croaa exainination of the witness Pritchard by the counsel for the defendants was concluded to-day. He occupied the box for six and a half days. The Crown called Mr, Campbell, security clerk, as the next witness. Tho evidence *.vas principally con i fined to witters connected with the eeouritics held by the banks against overdrawn accounts dealt with in tho case. He was also cross-examined by the defendants counsel. The other witnesses to-dav were Mr. Edward GrifRihs, brother of the Chic.f Justice, tho Auditor General, Mr. Deshon, and Mr. R. H. Mills. The case has made considerable progress, and was adjourned till Monday.
