WATER POLICE COURT. MONDAY, JUNE 13. BEFORE the Water Police Magistrate. ILLEGALLY OBTAINING PASSAGES BY THE EAGLE STEAMER.—William Thompson and George Brown each pleaded guilty to the above charge. They were ordered to pay the amount of the passage money, £3, with 5s. additional, or one fortnight in gaol.

PETTY DERTS COURT. Bi:roitE the Polico Magistrale. Collins v. Hand.-This was an action for £10, which the complainant claimed as the value of a horse, which the defendant had borrowed, and which through his negligence had been drowned. 3 Tand borrowed tho horso to work for a week, and at tho end of that timo win to return it to Collins, instead of which ho left it at tho resi- dence of ono M'lvor, tho complainant's father in-law, on tho day after ho borrowed it. Tho horso afterwards si rayed away and was drowned. The evidence for the defence was to the effect that the défendant delivered the horso to M'lvor at tho request of tho complainant. Verdict for plaintiff, willi costs. Hcussler t. Davis.-Suit for tho balance of an account current. There was a considerable amount of discussion, chiefly referring to the de- livery of tho goods alleged to havo been supplied.
