A Gentleman of the Irifh Turf, weighing 13 ftone and a half, rode a horfe from Ennif- corthy to the Curragh on the 17th ult. (Pat- rick's Day, 1818), and during the whole of the fperts of the day; which confifted of five races, and some Courfing, as well as vifiting moft of   the ftuds round the Curragh, refted fthe horfe fix hours, while at dinner, and returned to En- nifcorthy, performing a journey of ninety Irifh miles, on the road, in 34 hours. The horfe was   got by an Arabian, out of a country Irifh mare. A butcher to Silenfs, who went into the country to buy fwine, was fhot a fhort time ago in a wood near Norig by a robber. As the latter was approaching to plunder him, the butcher's dog furioufly attacked the murderer, feized him by the throat, and ftrangled him.     A hunter who had heard the fhot and cries, haftened to the fpot. The new sloop Governor Sorell, late the property of Mr. T. W. Birch, was purchased this week by Mr. Luttrell. We understand she will be chiefly used for the purpose of bringing   wheat from Pitt Water to town ; of which article she will carry 800 bushels. She is considered a good sailor, and a very dry vessel.

From a London Paper of November last we extract the following pleasing information:- LONDON, NOV. 2.—Letters have been re-   ceived from Hanover announcing the preg- nancy of the Duchess of Clarence. Her Royal Highness's Consort intimates his intention of bringing the illustrious personage over to this     country, previously to her accouchement. The Duchess of Cumberland is declared in a state of pregnancy by recent advices from   the Continent. Thus we have expectations from four quar- ters—the Duchess of Kent, the Duchess of Cambridge, and the two Ladies above nam- ed, all are in an interesting condition.
