PREFERENCE OS CROPS It was pointed out by Mr. Pattinson (Lib.) in the Assembly yesterday that farmers who had been granted relief under the Farmers' Belief Act had given preference on crops to certain creditors to the exclusion of others. Certain applications had been made to the Bankruptcy Court, and the effect of them might be not only to cancel preferences, but to upset the whole of the Act. He 'asked if legislation would be introduced immediately to give the State Bank power to forbid such pre ferences. The Premier -Mr. Hia) said he would so into the matter' immediately.
