VISIT OF THE DELEGATES OF ( THE WHOLESALE CO-OPERA TIVE SOCIETY. The delegates of the English Co operative Wholesale Society arrived in Benmark by the steamer Ellen on Thursday night, Mr. J. Clay, J.P., chairman of the directors of the Lon don Branch, Mr. J. Stoker, one of the directors of the Newcastle Branch, and Mr. Ben. Jones, the London Manager. They were accompanied by Mr. E. G. B. Ebdy, Manager of the S.A. Produce Department in Ade laide, Mr. T. E. Inglis, Inspector of settlements, and Mr. T. Ii. Sme&ton, Secretary to Village Settlements' Aid Society. On arrival they were met by the Secretary and several of the Directors of the Benmark Fruit Packing Union, and the delegates stated that after visiting Murtho they would be pre pared to inspect the Renmark planta tions. LOCAL AND GENERAL NEWS Our leading article is crowded out this issue, together with other matter. Mr. P.S. Wyllie took excellent photos of the Mildura and Renmark football teams, engaged in last week's match. Copies may be obtained a< 2/6 each. The V. R. C Grand National Steeplechase was won by Dungan, the top weight. This is his third victory in succession including the Onkapa ringa Steeple. Mr. G. F. Chaffey brought to our office on Wednesday a large navel orange, measuring 15J inches in cir cumferance and weighing 26 ounces. It was grown at Olivewood plantation. It is now in view at the Institute. P. H.
