Stirring speeches were made by Gen. Loan, Major Albin, and Mr. Scbofield, of St Joseph. They handled Gambleites and Copperheads without mercy. Gen. Loan crave a (all history and pedigree of Gamble and all his State officers; of the doings of the State Con vention; of the reason why ha was master ed out of the service; Ekinned brother Van Buskirk alive; gave an acconnt of the perigrinations and doings of Dr. Peter; and told the people how Gamble &Co. were maneuvering to bring them nnder, and to protect slavery in the State nntil the rebellion was over, when the exiled traitors could come home and fasten the institntion on Missouri forever. Easley, James S. Easley, and George TJarnugton, of Halifax, County, Yirginia, all active rebels, are largely interested here. So is J. W. Face, of Danville, Virginia ; and F. L. Hailr of the same State, who was a member of tbe Legisla ture, and voted for the Secession Ordi nance, which was rushed through in se cret session. Bebeli and their sympathisers are at so loss to give excuses for finding fanlt with the war ; bnt there are castes which disgust every lojal man with the manner in which it is carried on. Chief among these, is the wholesale plundering that is being practiced by Gorernment officials. The plundering of Gorernment bj con tractors, bad as it is, is not the worst part of it. The outrageous swindling of poor soldiers, by paymasters, antlers, and other sharks, throagh the connivance of army officers, is viliaiaons in the ex treme. There are officers in the army, who care not a copper for the preserva tion of the Union, bnt go in for the mon ey alone, and scrapie not to use any mesas to obtain it.
