The exchanges at Erie, St Paul and Stark were includ ed in the sale, together with about one hundred country lines. Undertakers' Trust. ? It is an old saying that nothing is sure but death and taxes. This has, been modernized to include the payment of the under taker's bill since Kansas undertakers have formed a trust andrequire peo ple to put up cash or give approved security before they will bury the dead. The Kansas and Mis souri Republican members of the house have been hearing from their constituents since their position on the statehood question became known lately. Hundreds of telegrams have been sent to them urging in the strongest terms possible their con currence In the senate amendment. Many of these telegrams are . from quarters which carry weight, and may have some influence in deciding the disposition of the bill when it comes up for action in the house. If the Missouri and Kansas members had stood resolutely and united for the senate bill in conference recently, the tide might have been turned and the bill sent to conference with in structions to concur. No other states having strong Republican representa tives are as vitally interest...
