Mr. McC. wra employed in the Dru" Store of W. F. Gray, Broad street, where during the day previous to hi3 death he was engaged in the preparation of cholera medicines. He became alarmed at the exaggerated reports in circulation, and on retiring at night placed a vial of laudanum near his bedside. THE SOUTHERN VOTE OSTTUE NEBRASKA BILL. "TVc have heretofore shown that there was but one Southern democratic vote against the Xebraska bill in the House of Representatives that, of Mr. Mnisos, of Virginia. Mr. Harris, of Mississippi, made a speech against it, but had not the courage to vote against it. He was one of the absentees. The Banner makes an extract from the speech in question. Well ; Mr. Harris is a clever democrat, who made a mistoJx in this speech, and finding out the mistake, was too wise to follow it by his vote.
