To the Patrons of the Californian: Recent transactions in relation to the Californian have made it incumbent on the undersigned to, inform the patrons and readers of this paper that with the issue of the present number, -- the last of volume second -- my entire interest and control ceases. The reasons and considerations inducing this conclusion amount to several, but of which main impellent is encompassed in the fact of my inability to give sufficient attention to the objects so necessary to be accomplished in the successful conducting of a public journal; whilst a great portion of my time is necessarily consumed in another and more congenial occupation. RESOLUTIONS Resolved, That the .Alcalde proceed to hare the record books of his office indexed, 1 and the papers in hisoEice properly labelled, and thai the town pay the expenses of the same. Resolved by the Town Council, That the election fi>r school commissioners, to represent the school, is hereby declared illegal, strid an election shall be held by ballot at the school house, on Saturday, May 13th.
