District News. Buderum Mountain. [Newspaper Article] — Chronicle and North Coast Advertiser — 8 January 1904

Disfcriqfc! - - - -; Jfews. (Bv Our Owx Corrijspoxdexts.) Buderum Mojuntain. The Christinas holii3ays passed off very quietly here, sis. the Mount was almost deserted owing to most of the residents going: camping to Mooloolah store. : Those who could not get into the stpre! used tents, and some utilised tjhdjr cyaniding sneets to camp m.j lne weather was all that could $e desired, and everybody seemed to riake the best of their time. Our jbe; t thanks are due to Messrs. J. Kj Birnett and S. Fountain for the grfeat pleasure de rived by the ;tise !of their boats, several trips' being miade in them to Point Ark\yright[ which were thoroughly enjoyed by all, even though we had to get - -ut and shove 'them over the; sandbanks. We at length came to the cor elusion that sailing was easier tjiar rowing, so with a favourable b^ezu blowing we hoisted the sail on Iflr. J. K. Bur nett's boat, and under ihe splendid management of Mejssrk W. Row land and C. A; Buniettj, we enjoyed the pleasures pf...

Family Notices [Newspaper Article] — Chronicle and North Coast Advertiser — 8 January 1904

ENGLISH-HOLM.   On Wednesday morning last a very pretty wedding was celebrated at the residence of Mr. Jorgen Jorgenson, of Mapleton. Mr. James English, second son of Mr. Peter English, of Dulong, being united in the holy bonds of matrimony   to Miss Christina Holm step-daughter of Mr. Jorgen Jorgensen. The wedding service was very impressively conducted by the Rev. T. Brassington. The bride was attractively attired in a white silk dress trimmed with insertion, and wore the orthodox wreath and veil, and was attended by two bridesmaids, Misses Minnie and Alice Jorgenson (her step- sisters), while Mr. John Bury acted as   best man. There were upwards of 40   guests present, and all sat down to a dainty wedding breakfast provided by the   bride's parents. The presents were numerous, costly, and useful, and a full list of them will appear in our next issue.   C{X*.ILSENESCA;U Aiiotlicri very pretty wedding was...

The dirty tac tics of the 'National Liberal Unioft' crowd at the last electiot is merejy a repetition of the old; game thijtt has been played by the jyime party for many years past. I To close . readers and observers wlio are pre pared to investigate an-! think for themselves, the attitnele of the ' r Brisbane daily Press when trying to gull nmvary elector;! is simply ridiculous, and it is fast losing tliie confidence of the publijc, even in the metropolis.
