TIIE FEEJEE ISLANDS. Tbe Herald of Friday contains an account of the proceedings in England with reference to the proposed cession of the Feejee Islands to the British Crown. On the 14th April a deputation, including a number of gentlemen connected more or less intimately with these colonies, waited on the Earl of Derby, at his official residence, in presence of the Secretary of State for the colonies. The object of the deputation was to urge   upon the Government the advisability, on every point,   of the British Crown accepting the cession of the Fee- jee Islands. Mr. Cheetham addressed his lordship upon the commercial bearing of the matter. Lord Alfred Churchill on the political, and the Earl of Shaftesbury on the social. Tbe deputation sought to impress the Government with the great importance of accepting the   Islands.
