The Structure and Unity of the Bible. [Newspaper Article] — Heidelberg News and Greensborough and Diamond Creek Chronicle — 31 October 1914

. ? The Structure and Unity of the Bible. ' The Rev. Alex. Hardie last Sabbah preaohed on the above subject. He . said the Bible may be compared to a causket in which there are precious jewels, but amongst the jewels there ie one more brilliant and more valuable Sthan the others, and that one is the pearl of great price, Jesus Christ. A ": man may be in possession of the jewel who never saw the casket, i.e., the Bible. There is such an eflivacy in the Lord Jests- Christ, such a fitness in. l him for the sins and sorrows and wants of poor fallen humanity that she holy spirit can bring Christ home : : with saving power to the soul by a v?: erse of scripture. He next compared the Bible to a beautiful tapestry on - which a figare is woven, and that figure is Tesus Christ. If it be mu :- tilated, or the golden threads that _::. meet and intermingle be born and tar ?:· nished we lose so far the complete image. He compared the Bible to a home. It is the home of the spiritual life. He compa...
