STANLEY v FOREST (FROM OUR OWN CORRESPONDENT) A match between Stanley and Forest was played at Stanley on Wednesday. The vistors went first to the wickets and made the respectable score of 104, W. Ollington weilding a lively bat for 41. C. Hills 17, G. Wells 16, and L, King 10, were the other principal scores. Stanley saw their last wicket down for 61, of which D. Ferguson contributed 29. In the second innings, the Foresters timber fell rapidly; F. Ferguson and Geo. Leggettt fairly beat the batsmen and they were all dismissed for 43, of which W, Ollington scored 12 and H. Wells 14. Stanley now had 87 to get to win, which taskk, judging by the first innings, seemed hopeless. But Fred Ferguson, with some of his old dash, played a capital innings, and the score steadily mounted up, and as the time for drawing the stumps drew near there was a deal of excitement.
