Tragedy at Forbes. MURDER AND SUICIDE. (By Telegraph.)   Sydney, Tuesday.—A young man Elwyn Richards, an only son aged, 23 years, residing with his father and mother and seven sisters near Forbes, shot hjs father dead and his mother almost dead. He intended to kill the whole family, but imagined the sisters were absent, and shot himself. The mad deed is said to have been caused through the young man's love affairs and money troubles.

Mr. Barton says Melbourne has a minimum period of five years as the seat of the Federal Government. At election time it does not do to place too much importance on figures issued by candidates. If one half of the electors of this Stale believe the rot the "Daily Telpgraph" is pouring out in big black type, thero will be plenty of room for lunatic asylums. There will only be a short session of the State Parliament before the next election. A lot of important business might bo going on now if the Parlia ment were doing its duty to the country. The Parliamentary recess is virtually a three months' leave of absence for 125 members at £6 per week. This means tha country has to pay nearly £10,000 for a Parliamentary holiday.
