Inferior Seed Replaced. STATE ACTS PROMPTLY. [Newspaper Article] — Ouyen Mail and Central Mallee Advertiser — 19 March 1915

Inferior Seed Replaced. STATE ACTS PROMPTLY. Dr S. S. Cameron. Director of Agriculture, has informed Mr R. B. Rees, M.LC., that the Ministry would take back certain bags of inferior seed wheat sent out to farmers who had obtained State advances, and that they would be supplied with good wheat. Mr Rees submitted a sample which he had obtained from Mr D. Clarke of Cowangie near Murrayville. It contained barley   grains, was not clean, and the grain was far from being plump. On the tag was a statement showing variety and the station from which it had been despatched. He had expected that in dealing with such a large quantity as 400,000 bushels a few attempts might be made to put in inferior lots. There had been five complaints regarding wheat fr...
