ON THE MOVE Dear Stud And Uncle Slime [Newspaper Article] — The Capitolist — 13 April 1972

ON THE MOVE Dear Stud And Uncle Slime michael chew . . . due to an error in your packet or a course closing, you did not receive all the courses you requested . . . Well that's sweet, and its also a normal predicament for all us students on and during registration day. You go in there and you have about two minutes with hundreds of other disenfranchised students, to make a simple decision on your life. It was suggested by a fellow drone while we were standing in line, that if you don't get a course they could at least tell you what course you didn't get. This way, registration wouldn't be as disturbing as it is, that's just on the surface though. See you simple fuck, its an error in your head, Slim Slygh, this school, and today's society does not make mistakes. Everybody knows that we the stud-drones are here to serve the machine (Sieg Heil). Regardless, ain't Slim cute when he's efficient. So we all did our comic phoney duck scene of registering for our education, well th...

Intramural Mixed Bowling [Newspaper Article] — The Capitolist — 13 April 1972

Intramural Mixed Bowling by Cliff Claypool On Wednesday, April 12th, the spring term Intramural Mixed Bowling League began at the Mid diet own Lanes at 9:30 PM. The league will again be run on a round robin and handicap basis with each pair of competing teams viling for a total of four points. Each of the three games is worth one point to the winning team, and total pins is also worth one point. Because of the special rates given to Capitol Campus students by the Middletown Lanes, league bowling is very cheap at $1.30 per person per night. Included in the bowling fee are free shoes and a wide selection of bowling balls if needed. At all times at the Middletown Lanes when no league bowling is taking place, all Capitol Campus students get special rates except on Tuesday and Saturday nights when everybody can bowl 3 games for $1.00 after 9:00 PM. If you like to bowl, and you're looking for plenty of excitement, the intramural bowling league is just the thing for you. If you don...

Attention: The Bathtub Race Is Coming! [Newspaper Article] — The Capitolist — 13 April 1972

Attention: The Bathtub Race Is Coming! by Denny Hassler The first Annual Capitol Campus Bathtub Race will be held on May 24, 1972, starting at 1:00 p.m. This is no joke, but a reality. A pre-race dance, sponsored by PSPE, will be held the night before, Tuesday, May 23. Many people have inquired as * to where you can get a tub. Since many students go home on weekends, why not try the local junkyard. Also, rumor has it a house in Middletown has a tub on its front porch. PSPE, which is sponsoring the event, is so far the only club to make a definite entry into the race. A few others have indicated that they will enter, but they are all engineers. What's wrong, don't you other people know what a bathtub is? (Answer - it is the long, white(?) thing in your bathroom.) Pre-registration forms and official rules are available in the PSPE office, W-110B. The club requests that people fill out these pre-registration forms soon so it can get an idea as to how many tubs will be entered i...

Capitol Loses Opener [Newspaper Article] — The Capitolist — 13 April 1972

Capitol Loses Opener Cincinnati and Houston never played last Wednesday because of the major league strike. But, Capitol Campus opened their season with a 10-1 loss to Lehigh County Community College. The score does not indicate the true competition of the game. Lehigh County scored nine runs, of which eight were unearned, in the second inning. They used four hits and five errors in that nine run frame. The big blow in the inning was a grand-slam by Szalakowski of Lehigh. Capitol did not have toe much to cheer about during the game. They had singles by Decon, Guss and Maeder. Rosenzweig chipped in a double for the losers. Capitol's only run was unearned. It was scored in the seventh when Lastowski crossed the plate on a passed ball. Lehigh added another unearned run in the seventh. The Capitol Campus nine seems to have some promise this year. Since the team had only one practice before the game, the team was somewhat rusty. The pitching of Earl Leach, Andy Burger and Andy Or...

ALL IN THE FAMILY TAKES FIRST PLACE IN IDA [Newspaper Article] — The Capitolist — 13 April 1972

ALL IN THE FAMILY TAKES FIRST PLACE IN IDA by Cliff Claypool The winter term bowling league came to an end March 15th with the league rolloffs at the Middletown Lanes. The championship was decided by total pins for three games with each team receiving a handicap. The final results were as follows: FIRST SECOND THIRD TEAM GAME GAME GAME TOTAL 1. All in the Family 825 957 880 2662 2. F.O.B.O. 911 886 843 2640 3. XGI 845 881 901 2627 4. Pinheads 847 878 825 2540 5. Hermies 868 841 800 2509 Since there was a tie for the fourth position in the rolloffs, five teams competed for the championship. Unlike the fall term rolloffs when the Hermies ran away with the championship, this rolloff wasn't decided until the last frame of the last game was bowled. With just about everyone on all the teams bowling above their league averages, the individual scores and team scores were pretty high. In the first game Frank Brown's consistent bowling got F.O.B.O. off to a fast start with a 43 pin le...
