The letters' from the distinguished individuals whuse names appear with them will attract no small attention. The letters of Messra. INDIANAPOLIS, JULY 24, 1847. iami Lmitls. By an official notice in another column, it will be seen that the sale of lands in the Miami district has been further postponed until May, 1313. The County Ticket. The Journal exhorts the whiff to adhere to their County Ticket in full, and for thosa candidates only I who were the nominees of the Whiff convention. It think it of the highest party importance that the Convention nomineess for county offices should be adhered to, yet if we are not mistaken it thinks, and has intimated, that in the highly important matter of a presidential election,' conventions for the purpose of a compromise of choices" is a matter of doubt, if not of danger. Why this difference ! Can't every body tell ! While thus exhortinpr the Whigs to adhere to the regularly nominated whig convention county candidates, the Journal seems to have forgotten l: e stand it thought it expedient to take for Mr. McCarr s benefit in the Congressional canvass. They would not regard ...

lAIMAJV.U'OLlS, JULY 31. IK47. UO-Thc Richmond Palladium of July 20th devoted an article to tlie State Sentinel, which we "laid on the table" at the time of its reception. We have since "taken it up for a first reading;" but We do not think it requires further notice than to say that we are grossly misrepresented, particularly on the subject of the annexation of Texas. The editor was guilty of the same misrepresentation in the Senate last winter. We then corrected him, but he seems " determined to persist in his unfairness. fc-Thc whig paj.era are chuckling over the fact, that tlie late news from Europe, showing tlie most flittering prospects of better than usual crops daring the present harvest, has had a tendency to lesen the high prices of grain in our Atlantic ports. They of course wore sorry that the previous dearth in Europe had benefitted our people to some extent, and still Furrier tint a liberal tariff system had permitted us to take tlie fullest advantage of tlie extraordi...
