i 1 S i FARM AND ,H6HE. PrescTTing Hams. Troro the Southern Live Stock Journal. The Eev. "W-S. Spraggius, Ses sumsville, this county, called in the other day to tell us how to keep lams, in answer to an inquiry for information that had been made by a subscriber through this paper. He says ho 'encases, the ham in a cheap domestic bag. Hay is placed in the bottom of the bag and hay around the ham. He hangs his hams not later than the last of February. He says the fly does not make its ap pearance in this latitude until about the 1st of March; and the object is to hang the meat before the fly does appear. The hay not only absorbs the moistuie from the ham, but its presence between the cloth and the meat prevents the insects reaching the meat through the domestic. He says he has practiced this plan for fifteen years, and during that length of time neTer had the least trouble with any kind of fly or insect. He has kept hams in this condition five years. This is a most valuable re cipe an...

It tends more to "breed sectionalism and to array one interest against another than any other thing. i Nothing: in the world delights the 3?luined 'Knight more, so it is said, than to be compared with Henry day, and it is owing to this fact, doubtless, that his friends among the newspapers are so accustomed to instituting comparisons between the two...
