JIoMbers ot the faculty at the observauirv have been up every morn ing since the comet became visible, but toda is the iirst time they have been alic 10 see it. The comet rises so late thai it can hardly be seen with the telescope before sunrise. By the time it has risen above the trees east of the observatory it is almost enveloped in the morning light of the sun. Harlow Shapley, assistant in as tronomy, saw the comet this morning.
