I 7 S li THE MINING FIELD CLIFTON DISTRICT Mining News from the Eastern End of Graham County Clifton Copper Era A eave iu occurred at the A C rail road tunnel leading from Morencl to the concentrating plants of the A C and D C companies Sunday last which was of quite an extensive na ture No one wta hurt but a train of ore cars was put out of business Traffic through the tunnel was shut off for three days A solid train load of copper passed over the A k X M Monday it being the first regular freight train oer the new extension from Lordsburg to Hachita whee connection is made with the El Paso and Southwestern Fifteen cars of the copper came from Clifton and seven from Morenci mak ing 22 cars in all averaging 30 tons each CCO tons or 1 32u0u0 pounds a shipment of which any camp might well feel proud At 10 cents per pound this one shipment is worth 132000 Nothing slow about Clifton and Mo renci C P Rosecrans general manager of the Standard Copper mines found time to visit town this week...
