The successful tenderer is Mr Trestrail, of Williamstown. : BRICKs.-The Yarraville Brickmaking company have just opened a kiln of splendid bricks at their works in Cowper street and invite builders and practical men to inspect them as theyere considered equal to any made in Victoria. SVITAL STrATIsTIrs.--The following are the registrations for the week ending Dec. 29th; Footscray, seven births and five deaths; Hotham, eleven births and nine deaths; and Williamstown, seven births and six deaths. The number of deaths in the Metropolitan district for the same period exceeded the births by four, the former being 162 and the latter 158. Of the deaths 5o were infants under one year.
