An Open Letter. TO THE RESIDENTS OF THE SHIRE OF ALEXANDRA "THE SUN" YOUTH TRAVEL SCI-IEME. ; "rThe Sun" newspaper recently inaugurated a "Sun Youth Travel" icheme, which provides for a trip overseas by one boy from each inunici pallty which has made successful application to sponsor a boy between the ages of 13 and 17 years. Under ordinary circumstances this trip would cost approximately £1,000, but is to be provided under the scheme for £250, inclusive of all costs and providing for educational as well as recre ational facilities; educational provision will be made by the inclusion of six Department of Education teachers travelling with the boys. When the scheme was first launched, the Alexandra Shire Council unanimously decided to sponsor one boy from this Shire, and a Public Meeting was called to discuss the matter.
