FODDER CONSERVATION SCHEME Increased Advances Available Substantially, increased advance, for purchase and storage of fodder as drought reserves are provided for by the recently amended and expand ed N.S.W. Fodder Conservation Scheme. Advances to individual farmers for purchase of fodders for storage have been increased to £500: Co-opera tive dairy and rural societies may now obtain advances up to £10,000. Maximum advance to a co-operative society under the old scheme was £1000 for purchase of fodder and £1000 for storagd. In a statement giving further de tails of the amended and expanded scheme recently announced by the Premier, Mr. McGirr, the Minister for Agriculture, Mr. Graham, pointed out that advances were made at a very low rate of interest (1i per cent) and in the case of individuals were repayable over three years.
