Boree Creek. A JUMBLE EVENING. [Newspaper Article] — The Lockhart Review and Oaklands Advertiser — 21 February 1911

r Boree Creek. : — ? — :o: ? ? A JUMBLE EVENING. Jumble evenings, like harem skirts, threaten to be fashionable, only that the former apparently have a belter chance of success. Boree Creek likes to be in the fashion. In fact, any thing that is out of date is of no good to the people there. Jumble even ings, however, are quite up-to-date. They are jolly evenings, providing plenty of fun. Unfortunately it rained at the first part of the enter tainment. But it was a beautiful night later on and everyone enjoyed themselves immensely. The enter tainment began with a sho?'t play called the *' Backward Child,' by Miss Origan and Miss May Crigan, which was very amusing. Next there was a recitation excellently rendered by Miss Hopwood, of Narandera. Next there was a slioi t play entitled ?' The Two Lunatics.' by Miss Origan and Mr Yeo. who did t L ? ? i r parts exceeding^ well. Then during the evening guessing competitions were carried on. One was to guess the weight of a 1. given I y Mr La...

INTERESTING DISCOVERY IN PRUSSIA. : 4 An interesting discovery has just been made at Wittenberg, in Saion Prussia, which is of great interest to all Protestants. While repairin'g the weathercock of the town church, 'Schlosskirche,' the workmen found under the cross a metal ball, which they noticed would open. The second document, dated 1556, also of four pages, is written by Philip Melanchthon, the friend and dis ciple of Luther, the handwriting bearing the characteristics of ^the 'Confession of Ausbork.'
