CITY ITEMS Durability of Trxtilb Fabrics.—The gradual deterioration in tbe various textile fabrics that constitute the staple of our dry goods trade is as marked as it is adverse to the true eoonnmy of consumers. What we mean by thi_«i_«, that the last few years have produced a flood of imitations in this department of our manufactures, which, while they have apparent'y cheapened the _ooat of many articles, are really more expensive to those who buj them for me, from the fact that the difference in price la more than outweighed by the difference in quality. This ii espeoeoially true in Cloths, Linens, Sh'rtings, Sheetings, and various kinds of _stap; e dress goods, suoh as _Bombazinas, Black _Silks, and so forth.
