It is hnniliatin; to every honest man in Kansas to witness the perfect sangfroid with which the press and the people peak of the presence of fraud and corraption at our State Capital. Ten jears ago Samuel C. Pomerov was a candidate for re-election to the high and honorable position of United States Senator, at Topeka, At that time bis principal sup porters were Perry Fuller, Geo. T. Anthony, Gaylord and J)an Adam' Bank. Pomeroy was elected, and he made no secret that it cost him 535,000. Rosa was elected for he short term. Terry Fuller made no secret of the fact, and exhibited his check book, showing that he had paid over 513,000, to buy votes to elect Ross. Geo. Admiral Wilkes had quits a reputation as an explorer, as well as a naval officer, and was especial! noted for lus daring and intrepidity. He was born in the City of New York in 1801, and entered the nary as a midshipman in 181, when but fifteen years ef age.
